Damn Internet Connection - Grr & I See Pirates 3 soon!!!!

Screw it. Was gonna rant but by the time I've got my hit & miss internet connection to actually work, I can't be arsed. I will say that we had our Fire Awareness & Fire Warden training which was actually ok & skived out the office for a further 90 mins by going for an extended pub lunch in a little place conveniently situated opposite the training centre. Handy that. A few glasses of wine / beer later & we were sufficently relaxed enough to go & face the horrors that awaited us back in the office.

Also, as Im going to see Pirates 3 tomorrow night, I won't have time to post Fridays Oaks day tips at Epsom so I'll try & post them tomorrow morning, unless I forget or my internet is still acting itself. Oh an I am over the moon. My dad has finally brought some industrial standard ear plugs back for me from his oil rig. Ok they are stolen but if it means I get some shut eye while he's home & snoring then I think that justifies the theft. Its only taken him 9 years to remember them but better late than never, right?!

Rules Are There To Be Broken

For the last few evenings I have been indulging in shots of Baileys Irish Cream served in a chocolate cup. Mmm delicious.

Anyway £12k T was back (he had last week off) to his usual annoying self. I am snowed under with fuel claims again & I'm under strict orders not to do any work for T whatsoever. That still didn't stop him from bombarding me with things not five minutes after I'd arrived at work this morning. Asking me to do anything before 9.30am is a bad idea coz I have drivers to dispatch, regular contracts to sort out & collect in any previous days takings, so really he was asking for the sharp response he got.

Then when I did help him out he went on to moan that the phone number I got from BT 118 wasn't the right one. I asked the lady at BT exactly what he told me to ask her so if it was wrong then he should try looking in the mirror. Anyway he phoned this number & it turned out it was the right one... only as he doesn't have permission from our board of directors to be privy to our tax info, the person at the other end of the phone refused to tell him anything. The steam coming out of his ears was hilarious & it made my day - in my defence its been a very slow day!

So to pass the time I have been a right rebel & broke five office rules: 1) Gave the drivers some washing up liquid to clean their buses with 2) Handed out "illegal" (dont ask long story) biscuits 3) Gave the guys some more coffee to refil their jar with 4) Took the executive decision to give a client the best bus of the fleet (which is only supposed to be used on long journies) coz JK hadn't bothered to allocate him a bus and I didnt want him gettin irrate & 5) Fed "Scraggy" (not its real name, its just what we call it coz it looks a bit... well scraggy!) the site cat, which is now sporting a new silver & diamante collar. He or she looks very flash. I felt sorry for it after playing with my mates kitty, Tigger last Saturday. I personally reckon its a boy although no one has got close enough to verify its gender yet. Maybe one day.

And finally my resolution to be nice continues: I gave my protege my barely used large bottle of not cheap, Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise perfume. I never wear it as it reminds me of the ex bf that gave me it plus I never even liked the smell in the first place! Still the nice thought WAS there.

138 Years Of History Gone In A Puff Of Smoke & Saturday Nightmares

Today should have been a happy day - it was warm & sunny & bosses J & E are off on holiday which means a week of peace. However the first thing I saw when I turned on the news was the burnt out shell of the Cutty Sark. I'm so upset because I like old fashioned sail boats & she's a very important part of maritime history. Its ironic to think she survived the worlds roughest seas & severe storms during her lifetime & once modern day man gets hold of her, she suffers a devastating fire. I hope the powers that be manage to restore her to her former glory.

The gen from Saturday was everyone had a great time (after a rocky start) & lessons learned included don't mix your drinks, dont heckle policemen ... even if they are cute and don't leave your inflatable novelty willy unattended because they get kidnapped by other women less imaginative than you coz they didn't think to buy one themselves. Oh and in my case be sure to take my passport as we had a nice argument in the waterfront bar before we set sail. The dumbest thing was she'd watched us all come in & had already served us once. I am past caring now & usually just move on to the next bar when trouble brews but my mate, who isn't known for her diplomacy when sober, let alone after a few bottles of wine & a fishbowl. She was all "Well call the fucking police then. They can do a radio check on how old she is." I was just about holding her back from diving over the bar. God she's trouble. Sorry babes! xx

I do usually take my passport with me & put it in a mates bag coz mine simply aren't big enough. But I phoned they to ask did they think I'd need it & they were like no, we never have any bother through there & so I went against my gut feeling & didn't take it. Having said that its only two particular bars that I have trouble with no matter where I go within the entire country. Roll on government ID cards.... oh wait I already have one & its not acceptable. Somebody tell me why this new scheme is going to work?! Mind you, looking young works both ways. If I dress down I get into the cinema for childs prices, hehe but mostly its a pain in the arse & brings another problem - men gawping.

We were in the same waterfront bar just after 11pm while we waited for our taxi & it was too cold to stand outside. We stood in a fairly quiet spot opposite the bar & the entire time we were there, men kept staring. They weren't even discreet about it. At least most women have the grace to be discreet. Anyway I hate it. I'm very self concious to start with, which is why I don't like going to bars in general. Then of course jealous slappers start giving dagger looks coz they've been after a particular guy for hours & I turn up and am just standing ignoring all men & chatting to my mates yet I'm getting more attention from this guy in 5 minutes than she's had all night. Which is why most times we go out there is a fight.

Looking young is a definite pain & it pisses me off when everyone's like "ooh you'll look great when you're older." What? Is that when I can't get any OAP concessions coz I still don't look old enough?! We have a bet now:- At what age will I stop being asked for ID? I think never but more realistic suggestions have been 35, 42 and 45. Seriously, can i really STILL be asked for ID at 35?! Jesus the mind boggles.

Debt Busting Ain't So Hard

A big thank you to Janina, Sergeant Cecil, High Treason, Silver Pivotal & Moriqua for rounding off York's May Meeting in grand style. We techincally showed a modest profit of £105 for the 3 days but we started off the meeting £314 down. So doing the math means we are still showing a loss of £209 for the year although it is slowly being eradicated. More importantly Mini Cooper has done nothing but gloat to me with reference to Aintree but I don't care. There is a long way to go before Tipster of the Year is crowned & we eagerly await the Oaks/Derby Double in a fortnights time.

Final standings:-

1st place ----- Mini Cooper ----- 5 individual winners ----- £311 won

2nd place ----- TJ ----- 4 individual winners ----- £270 won

3rd place ----- Top Dog ----- 4 individual winners ----- £192 won

I hope everyone has a great weekend - I know I will. We are having a girly night out & it promises to be a debauched affair so guys, I'd run very very far away because once we hit the scene there's no telling what could happen!

Life In Mono, Peanuts & Speculate to Accumulate

A massive thanks to Authorized (green colours, top pic), Topatoo (chestnut filly, middle pic) & of course Blythe Knight my fabulous 9-1 winner (bottom pic) for continuing our rich vein of form which means the latest standings look like this:-

1st place ----- TJ ----- 3 winners

2nd place ----- Mini Cooper ----- 3 winners

3rd place ----- Top Dog ----- 2 winners

Ok so J was back to her petty nit picking self today. I got a long winded lecture about there being multi-colours in the bus booking diary. Apparently it hurts people's eyes to see loads of different highlighter colours. Ironic considering she never normally looks in the bastard thing. Besides it will always be multi-coloured as we all use different highlighters: the boys tend to use blue or green & I usually use yelloe or sometimes orange. However at the moment I'm stuck with pink ... which I hate so much it hurts. You would think she'd have way more important things to pay attention too. Obviously not.

We got our wages this week. My God. At this rate I'm never going to be able to move out. Not even if I bloody well house share. Eew that would be like a 3rd rate version of Big Brother. Anyway I'm especially pissed off with my wages this more because Js daughter is moving departments at the Civic Centre soon. She's younger than me, does a less demanding job, has flexi time & gets £6k more than me a year. I mean is it any wonder I'm driven to gambling to boost my crap wages? I'm never going to be able to afford my string of racehorses at this rate, which brings me on to the topic of the day, "Could you go out with someone (or marry) purely for money?"

Of course my answer is yes. Quite easily as it goes as I have done it once before. If needs be I can seperate any emotional feelings from the act of sex so that side of things wouldn't be a big deal for me. I'd be upfront & honest with the guy from the start though coz I don't believe in lying in a relationship. He could screw around - discreetly - as much as he wanted so long as I was kept in a comfortable lifestyle & he didnt give me any nasty infections. The majority of the guys were in complete agreement with me & they weren't surprised at my answer in the slightest - they know me too well!

Finally Day 3 tips go something like this:-

TJ:- 1.45pm Dubai Princess 2.15 Halla San / Kings Quay 2.45 Allegretto 3.15 Promising Lead 3.50 Sea Rover 4.25 King's Gait 5.00 Serpentaria

Top Dog:- 1.45pm Cristal Clear 2.15 Bauer 2.45 Munsef 3.15 Graduation 3.50 Morinqua 4.25 Beckermet 5.00 Persian Peril

Mini Cooper:- 1.45pm Tia Mia 2.15 Kilimandscharo 2.45 Sergeant Cecil 3.15 Silver Pivotal 3.50 Tombi 4.25 Buachaill Dona 5.00 Letham Island

Gossiping Cures All & York Day 1 Tips

I did actually have a rant at the tip of my fingertips as I left work but as I started gossiping with a mate on the way home, I quickly forget what I was going to moan about. Instead I'm just posting tomorrows York selections which should be avoided at all costs!

TJ:- 1.45pm Temple Place 2.15 Mystery Ocean 2.45 Shorthand 3.15 Amadeus Wolf / Fayr Jag (EW) 3.50 High Treason 4.25 Just Sort It 5.00 Spice Route

Top Dog:- 1.45pm Emirates Skyline 2.15 Smart Instinct 2.45 Passage Of Time 3.15 Al Qasi 3.50 Greek Well 4.25 Art Advisor 5.00 Hunting Tower

Mini Cooper:- 1.45pm Flying Clarets 2.15 Musca 2.15 Sues Surprise 3.15 Les Arcs 3.50 Tcherina 4.25 Ingleby Star 5.00 Woodcraft

Oh yeah. Topic of the day was "breaking beds during over zealous sex sessions". It kinda started when myself & D were discussing our respective bedrooms (she's thinking of redecorating hers & one of the slats in her bed is broke so she wants a new one) & I said I was sure my bed had never been assembled right coz it kinda rocks freely if you so much as lean against it, at which point AF happened to walk into the conversation. Somehow upon hearing the words "my bed rocks" he automatically assumed we were talking about sex. An easy mistake to make but in this case it was entirely innocent - my bed needs fixing, Im certain of it. I mean what if it collapses one night while Im alseep?? Which then transformed into a discussion about broken beds due to sex related activities. Its amazing how we link up convos in this place. But just to set the record straight I have never broken a bed due to sex in my life however thats not to say I wont in the future!

Mmm Marines, Quick Hide The Evidence & Block Voting

At the moment I am currently glued to the American tv drama series "Over There". It follows a unit of marines on a tour of duty in Iraq. My favourite characters are Angel (2nd from left) whose sniper ability is second to none & Sgt Scream (3rd from left) who is a tough no bullshit type of guy but you just know he'll be a softy at heart. I bought the series boxset ages ago upon high recomendations from a friend & I can't believe its taken me this long to finally watch it. He keeps asking me if I've seen it yet so yes! I have now & it rocks!

We had a surprise audit from the civic centre today which didn't bother us as we have nothing to hide. I've been helping the guy all day & he seems satisfied everything is in order. Well thats what he told us anyway. He could just be lying. I dunno.

Finally I've just got two words to say about the Eurovision Song Contest on saturday: block voting. We are livid our bet came in 2nd to the butch lesbian shit that won. Still, there's always next year.

I Don't Believe It - Missed A 33-1 Shot Argh!!

Ok so Im totally pissed off. If I hadn't been so consumed by Chester, I may have noticed my dads mates horse (Hit's Only Money) was racing last night at Ayr. The bastard won at 33-1 which would have got us out of the shit today. But I forgot to check the horses latest entries so I missed it. Thanks to that major catastrophy it means we made a total loss of £314 for the 5 day challenge. Its very hard to keep focused on the next festival (York May Meet next week) especially when we actually had a shed load of winners. It was just their odds were so short thats did it in for us. Still, never mind, thats racing. Roll on York & luckily I get my peanut wages next Monday, just in time.

The Guineas / Chester Champion Tipster accolade goes to Top Dog - well done hon x

1st place ----- Top Dog ----- 8 winners

2nd place ----- TJ ----- 6 winners

3rd place ----- Mini Cooper ---- 3 winners

To subsequently cheer everyone up R told me this joke& dedicated it to me coz Im the only blonde in the office - eek Im an endangered species! Anyway:- A blonde takes her car into a garage. The mechanic fixes it in 2 minutes commenting, "Just shit in the filter". "Really," says the blonde. "How often do I have to do that?"

Chester Challenge Update & More Rubbish Tips!

Literally just been to see Spiderman 3 with my dad - my mam was going to come with us but she is sick at them moment. It came over quite suddenly but hopefully she'll be better soon. Anyhoo Spidey rocks. But he has always been my fave superhero since I was a little girl. I was wrapped when they very first announced they were making him into a movie although I didnt rate Tobey Maguire as an actor. I'm coming around to certain movies he's done & I now can't imagine anyone else as Spidey.

After todays Chester races the leaderboard stands thus:-

1st place ----- Top Dog ----- 7 winners

2nd place ----- TJ ----- 5 winners

3rd place ---- Mini Cooper ---- 3 winners

And I shall crack straight on with the final day's selections:-

TJ:- 1.50pm Luscivious 2.20 Monzante 2.50 Anna Pavlova 3.20 Song Of Passion 4.00 Lady Zia 4.35 South O'The Border

Top Dog:- 1.50pm Daddy Cool 2.20 Admiralofthefleet 2.50 Scorpion 3.20 Red Somerset 4.00 Apple Blossom 4.35 Mighty Moon

Mini Cooper:- 1.50pm Yungaburra 2.20 Ea 2.50 Steppe Dancer 3.20 Giganticus 4.00 Maia 4.35 Heathyards Pride

Im kicking myself I abandoned Caribbean Coral in the 2.20 this afternoon coz he finally got his head in front at odds of 16-1. That would have helped us out the shit enormously. Oh well. Thats racing.

One Major Skive

Latest results of the Guineas / Chester Challenge is as follows:-

1st place ----- Top Dog ----- 5 winners

2nd place ----- TJ ----- 4 winners

3rd place ----- Mini Cooper ----- 3 winners

Day 2 tips comprise of :-

TJ:- 1.50 pm Hattan 2.20 Cape Royal 2.50 Arabian Gulf 3.20 Annemasse 4.00 Mac Gille Eoin 4.35 New Star

Top Dog:- 1.50pm Maraahel 2.20 Turn On The Style 2.50 Soldier Of Fortune 3.20 Thabaat 4.00 Goodbye Cash (is this the best horse name ever for a punter?!) 4.35 Philatelist

Mini Cooper:- 1.50pm Blue Bajan 2.20 Mr Wolf 2.50 Metaphoric 3.20 Gulf Express 4.00 Sparkling Eyes 4.35 Phreeze

No one did any work today (bar deal with telephone enquiries) & on days such as these we tend to pick one topic of conversation & talk it to death over the course of the day. I'm usually the one that sets the ball rolling coz there's always something playing on my mind & today was no exception.

I was majorly effected by something a guy said to me at T's bbq on Saturday & despite being totally hammered I still remembered the convo we had the next day. Basically this guy came up to me & before he even introduced himself said "By you don't have very big tits". As an opening line I have to say it didnt go down well. Needless to say I went on the defensive straight away. He wittered on for ages about how he liked something to hold & so on thil his wife came over.

Turns out I know his wife to speak to but she's not a dear friend although I'd never met her hubby before I knew he'd paid for her to have a boob job (she was the same size as I am now before her op), liposuction & a tummy tuck when I thought she looked great before the work anyway. Turns out the slimeball is him. In the end I said "ok, so God didn't bless me with tits but he did give me an ass thats looks damn good in jeans". But I digress - our topic of the day was "big or small boobs, pros, cons & anything in between".

I don't know if its coz I work with them & they are therefore biased but apparently Im a-ok. The general view was different women are known for different things, IE Kylie Minogue = pert ass, Angelina Jolie = bee stung lips, Kelly Brook = boobs. Apparently Im known for my ass which I can live with so long as no one mentions my lack of boobs. I did consider surgery three years ago but Im too scared of pain & also when I researched the surgery further it actually turns out quite a lot can go drastically wrong with implants so I decided I'd be better off making the most of what God gave me & just ignoring the rest. It still doesn't stop me moaning or feeling down about it sometimes though!

The guys' theory as to why Im feeling unsure about my appearance is coz I haven't had a bf in a while. If I had one I'd get my assurance from him about my body where as when there is just over critical me all by myself, I need to get that assurance elsewhere... namely from them! Bless their hearts!

Ciao for now folks

Shameless, (Un)Happy Anniversary & Further Into The Red

Ok so I wasn't impressed that I had to be in work early today purely because everyone else refused to get out of bed at such an ungodly hour to meet a Director that was coming in. As it was my boss J gave me a present when she came in (a cute little bag) which has set the guys wondering if she'd always planned to get me in early & the present was a thank you for it.

J has found herself a holiday. Not sure of the details yet but then neither is she! I have been shamelessly encouraging her into taking a week off all day so that the rest of us get some peace in her absence!

Its my mam & dads 25th wedding anniversary today & he is begrudgingly taking her out for a meal tonight. A sign of how bad a marriage they actually have is this:- my dad wanted me to come to dinner with them. Then about half an hour later my mam text me to beg me to come too. Neither knows the other had already asked me. Either way I declined. Hey - this is their marital bliss they can lie in it. Im staying home with chocolate & the TV!

Its the start of Chester races tomorrow so our bankrupting tips are as follows:-

TJ:- 1.50pm Primo Heights 2.20 Light Shift 2.50 Fair Along 3.20 Blythe Knight 4.00 Swiss Act 4.35 Elusive Deal

Top Dog:- 1.50pm Artdeal 2.20 All My Loving 2.50 Whispering Death 3.20 Stotsfold 4.00 Six Day War 4.35 Dark Angel

Mini Cooper:- 1.50pm Fast Feet 2.20 Hollow Ridge 2.50 Under The Rainbow (EW) 3.20 Charlie Tokyo 4.00 Bergonzi 4.35 Bookiebasher Dude

And finally, nothing interesting happened on the big works night out last Friday which I bypassed due to illness except R got chatted up by a gay guy on two seperate occasions. I think its now time he reached for the hair dye! His face must have been a picture because he thinks he is a bit of a superstud & a hit with the ladies. God wish I'd been there to see that one. Needless to say R himself didn't tell me about this (AF did) despite the fact that we had a nice long chat during morning break as I feel like our relationship has been strained lately & I don't know why.

Anyhow, ciao for now!

& So Our Slow Descend Into The Red Begins .....

Well done Finsceal Beo (Irish for Living Legend) for winning the 1000 Guineas in impressive fashion & here's hoping she becomes a top miler in the hoofprints of recent super fillies such as Soviet Song, Attraction & Russian Rhythm. While we are banging home winners left right & centre, they are coming at short odds which actually means that so far money wise we are showing a loss (IE we've bet more than we've won - not an ideal situation to be in!). We don't usually start to struggle this badly until Glorius Goodwood in August. Although Chester can throw up some big priced winners because there is always a lack of racing room as its such a sharp, tight track. We are keeping the faith albeit a little unconvincingly! Halfway through the Challenge & results stand as follows:-

1st place ----- Top Dog ----- 4 winners

2nd place ----- Mini Cooper ----- 3 winners

3rd place ----- TJ ----- 2 winners

Girl Power

Ok so in terms of actual winners we didn't do too badly yesterday but the odds were pretty crap so we aren't exactly rolling in the moolah just yet. After day one everyone is tied with one win each so to determine their position in the challange it then goes to most money won:-

1st place ----- TJ ----- 1 Winner

2nd place ----- Mini Cooper ----- 1 Winner

3rd place -----Top Dog ----- 1 Winner

In other news Two Thyme was withdrawn from Badminton as his rider Ruth Edge had a fall from her other horse earlier in the day & wasn't up to competing but Street Sense romped home in the Kentucky Derby. I don't follow American racing but now & again there is one horse that catches my attention. Roll on the Triple Crown!!

Anyhoo back to today & Im much to hung over so I'll keep this brief!

Some You Win Some You Lose

Teofilo is out of the 2000 Guineas & bang goes my Triple Crown dream but I have always had a back up plan for the Guineas (see below). Im not bothered about the money I lost coz I'll make it back easily enough. I just hope the horse will be ok & lives to fight another day. Oh and go Street Sense in the Kentucky Derby (USA) & Two Thyme at Badminton Horse Trials this weekend.

There was great rejoicing today as our illustrious leader E has gained his CPC certificate which basically means he can demand more wages & hire out his services for a shed load of cash. We're all happy for him coz he's been working his ass off studying for it so well done!!

Our tips for Day One of the Guineas / Chester Challenge are as follows:-

TJ:- 2.10pm Voodoo Moon 2.45 Rakata 3.25 Dutch Art & Strategic Prince (EW) 4.00 Skhilling Spirit (EW) 4.35 Lepido 5.10 Ten A Penny 5.45 Wannabe Posh

The Sex God Is Back, Vanity & Caribbean Dreams

Thought it was time to remind you all that Captain Jack is nearly back plus I wanted to drool over this picture. Anyway its made me calm after a very irritating day.

What mostly pissed me off was I found out the reason why I couldnt go to the York Ebor Meeting in August:- one of the drivers, P is already going with his mates. However what pissed me off was I asked for the time off ages ago while P just asked last week. As it is, I'll just have to rely on my syndicate members (when they aren't cheating) to keep me informed, which reminds me its nearly Guineas / Chester Syndicate competition time although this one is a bit different because the winner will not be decided until after the final race has been run at Chester on 11 May. God I hate flat racing although I do have an ante post bet since last October that Teofilo will win the Triple Crown (2000 Guineas / Derby / St Leger) .... & lo & behold just like my National ante post bet he's been suffering knee trouble. I don't know why I bother. Of course I do: my ante post bets on Finsceal Beo, Miss Beatrix & Sander Camillo. They are looking pretty sweet.

The funniest thing I've heard all week is that R is planning to dye his hair because he is sick of being grey as he can't pull women anymore. I said that was more likely down to his technique rather than his hair. Besides it doesnt look as bad as it sounds coz its a steel grey with lighter grey flecks that looks pretty cool to me & he wears is so short & cropped you don't really notice its grey. Sadly my opinion isn't enough at this stage to persuade to leave his hair as it is.

Finally to cheer myself up (I have been & indeed still am not feeling very well - nausea & dizzyness) I have bought some fab new perfume (Sunset Heat by Escada) that reminds me of balmy Caribbean nights with the man of my dreams. Never actually been to the Caribbean & haven't met the man of my dreams but that's the image I see in my head when I smell this tropical smelling perfume.
