And The Winner Is... A Right Royal Hoo La Baloo

A massive thanks to Hoo La Baloo (top pic), Albertas Run & Lyes Green (middle pic), Al Eile (bottom pic) along with Kings Quay who all provided us with winners on Day 3. The totals are in:-
1st place ---- TJ ---- 6 winners ---- £647.20 won
2nd place ---- Mini Cooper ---- 5 winners ---- £ 770.56 won
3rd place ---- Top Dog ---- 3 winners ---- £137.20 wond
although there is a MAJOR dispute as to who will be crowned Champion of Aintree. I believe I should because I chose the most winners which is the only rule (bar splitting all winnings 3 ways) our syndicate has. However Mini Cooper claims we tied on 5 winners apiece & that means it goes to most money won, which would mean he wins the title. He disputes my Hoo La Baloo "illegal" win as he calls it. Never was a horse so well named, I can tell you - he's causing a right old fuss!
I'll explain - Mini Cooper says the race is "illegal" because it was a charity race with unlicensed jockeys coz ordinary members of joe public were riding the horses. I say it is legal coz a) there was official betting hence I won real kudos I could feel in my hands, b) the members of the public had been living & training like a jockey for the past 10 weeks which more than qualifies them as amateur jockeys in my view. Top Dog is sensibly keeping out of it. This one could run & run & to be honest I can't see it ever being resolved. But Im not backing down because put simply I won the most races; illegal or otherwise so therefore I win the title.
Anyway as it is we turned a profit of £834.96 pence... I have no fucking idea where the 96 pence came from but there it is. One thing we have agreed on is to take £400 forward to the Guineas / Chester May meeting (where we'll promptly loose it all as we are all rubbish tipsters on the flat) & split the remaining £420 three ways for a share of £140 each. Once again Im paying off my credit card bill with my share although that totals to something in the region of £280. Oops. The £14.96 we are rounding up to a straight £15 & are graciously donating it to my main charity: Combat Stress which will almost pay a nurse for an hour for one of those ex servicemen / women in need.
Ciao for now
TJ
