Somewhere Over The Rainbow & Why Is Life So Confusing?
At work, I got everyone that deserved it into trouble for their actions (or lack of in P's case) last week. All I did was tell the truth in my debrief so my conscience is clear & I actually feel at peace now. Luckily I am not at work for a week so things may have calmed down by the time I return. Quite frankly I don't give a shit if they subsequently don't like me - Im not here to be liked. I'm here to do a job. Besides I don't really get on with two of the offenders anyway so it won't change our relationship too much.
Topic of the day (as discussed with those few that are still talking to me!) was "Crossed Wires" thanks to AF. As in, if you go out with a member of the opposite sex, is it a date or not? He went out for a drink last night with a girl who he#s known for a while. He confessed that in his mind he thought they were on a date however at the end of the night when he went to kiss her goodbye, she was less than impressed. He was 100% sure up until that point that he'd read the signals right but now he doesn't have a clue.
This has to be the hardest topic of all. I din't have an answer (unusual for me) as I've been on both sides of the story & i didn't have a clue then & I still don't now. Unless right at the start of the night we state our intentions:- "Would you like to go to the movies with me? By the way it is a date & I expect a snog at the end of the night" & voila no more confusion. Yep, that's definitely the way forward I reckon!
Ciao for now
TJ
