Ice Ice Baby, Going Awol & It Wouldn't Be Xmas Without The Ewww

There's really only one thing I can moan about today - the office heating. Or lack there of. It was absolutely perishing in the office today, including in me & I usually have the warmest area as the heater is adjacent to my desk. Of course having three unchivalrous guys standing right in front of the only source of heat doesnt help the warmth circulate very well. So living up to my usually undeserved nickname of "rottweiler" I told them to piss off back to their own ice boxes and get some work done.

While I'm here I've found something else to moan about. JK's incompetance. At least I think it is. It was all hands on deck this morning when volunteer driver JM didn't show up for his job. Luckily I found replacement in P though it was actually his day off today. JM called me some 30 minutes later to say he'd got JK's message of "Where are you??" and that he was ill in bed & had been there since yesterday. He knew he wouldn't be able to drive today so he'd sent JK a text on Sunday afternoon which would have given him ample-ish time to find a replacement.

Either JK obviously doesn't checnk his texts of it went astray but either way once again I had to sort out his mess and its starting to grate off me. Of course its probably the PMT talking which goes some way to explaining why the guys are treading very carefully around me - all false happy moods, inane grinning, bringing me cups of coffee, handfuls of chocolates or a biscuit unasked - that kind of thing. Which is uncharacteristic behaviour for all of them. You can tell its Xmas.

And finally:- the Ewww. The toilets have backed up again and we have no idea when they are going to be fixed. The site manager was no use on that score and R is refusing to help us out because last time he got badgered by his wife for days afterwards. The big wuss. I am tempted to close the office on Health & Safety grounds. I mean its can't be very hygienic can it?? Its all getting beyond a joke now but at least its proof we aren't to blame as this has happened over the weekend & we don't work weekends but lo & behold the block we believe are the culprits do work weekends. Coincidence? We don't think so. Maybe its now time for me to take up JK's suggestion from the last episode of blocked drains.

Well it is Xmas.

Ciao

TJ
